If you're expecting big things from the Chaparral 243 VR you won't be disappointed. Not in the least. Chaparral's flagship jet boat offering is big on performance, big on style and even bigger on comfort. The fact is no other jet boat compares. An enclosed fiberglass head, complete with a porta-pottie and opening portlight, allows day trips away from the dock. The bow is roomy and accommodating. A standard filler cushion converts the bow area to a huge playpen and a standard table is a plus while entertaining. Little things like stainless steel drink holders, LED cockpit lighting, molded footrests and a cockpit drainage system set the 243 Vortex apart. In the engine compartment, high output twin engine options ranging from twin 200 or 250 Rotax 4-TEC ECT will meet any need for speed. The standard Bluetooth sound system rocks the water and can be upgraded with an optional subwoofer, six-channel amp, and a transom remote. Want to join the latest surfing craze? A must-have for rafting parties, the anchor stows in its own cradle inside a dedicated compartment that has room for a line and chain and a forward ladder. The biggest bow area in our Vortex Series features recessed stereo speakers and stainless steel drink holders. The huge bow area offers adult-sized legroom, storage under the seats and reassuring freeboard. A plush filler cushion is standard and transforms the bow to a place to recline and let the sun work its magic. A standard weather door guards against wind in the cockpit on chilly mornings or late in the boating season.

Feel free to get a little wild. The 243's swim platform is the perfect launching pad for all kinds of watersports. A three step telescopic ladder stows in its own hideaway compartment, not atop the platform robbing valuable space. A standard protective mat provides sure-footing. Twin aft facing seats feature grab handles within arm's reach and stainless drink holders. Recessed stereo speakers beside each seat are the perfect in-the-water party starter.

(A) iTC (Intelligent Throttle Control)

The Rotax system is high technology at its best. SKI MODE provides pre-programmed acceleration curves so anyone in the family can be an expert tow sports driver. ECO MODE dials in the most efficient cruising speed, taking the guess work out of maximizing fuel economy. DOCKING MODE rescales the throttle for precise maneuverability in tight docking situations.

(B) Drive Shaft Sleeve

Helps prevent the problem of debris, tow ropes and weeds becoming entangled with the drive shaft. Rivals can only try to fix the problem after it occurs.

(C) Closed Loop Cooling

Protects the engine from harmful salt, gunk and corrosion by using clean coolant like a car. All Rotax 4-TEC engines are true saltwater engines.

(D) Lateral Thrust Control System

Directs jet thrust to either side of the transom during low speed maneuvers giving the driver pin-point control at the dock. Other systems either direct the thrust downward or use rudders, both of which are ineffective at low speeds.
